Amy Butler Take Flight Bag

When I saw this pic in the Amy Butler's Style Stitches book,  I knew immediately that I needed—not wanted it for my computer bag, and I knew what material I wanted to use.
It was a Alexander Henry's Caitlin Blooms fabric
that I used to make my daughter a different Amy Butler bag.  I always wished it was my bag—I loved that fabric.

Now to pair up the fabric to make the bag with… hmmmm… it took going to a different state (really visiting my brother in Texas)  to find the base fabric, then, finally the brown at a different store.  FYI, Dallas has sooo many more fabric stores than we have in Kansas City!  I modified the pattern to fit my computer—

lengthened it and made it a little wider to fit any kind of desk or manual.  Then inside I put in pockets for a mouse, a stick, and a small extra.  On the other side is a pocket that can hold a folder or file.

I also put the little feet on the bottom, for a designer touch.  I love my computer bag!  (That little bag is for the computer cords!)

The only thing I would do different is put a heavier looking zipper in it.  This one does the job, but looks wimpy to me.

Can I tell you again, I LOVE  it!!!  LaLaLa!!!
