Bedazzled Cast

My granddaughter broke her wrist, so we decided to stick diamonds on her cast.  I went to the craft store and got some sticky back jewels, and we stuck a few on.  If they stay, we'll stick on the rest, but if they don't we'll experiment with different glues.  I'll update and keep you posted!

Girls Camp Lanterns

Instead of blogging, I have been busy at our church's Girls Camp.  We made these lanterns-- with the YW Logo on them. I got the idea over at Wild Child's blog  -- they turned out just like they should.  The girls loved them.  Now back to my real life!

1980s Called...

and they want your bathroom back!  I hated picking the fixtures then and I hate it now.  I tried to pick something that wasn't quite in style, so it wouldn't go out of style!  Anyhow, this bathroom is the 'easier' one... just the floor, toilet and sink... what are we going to do when it is time for the other one?

Graduation Gifts

Once again I forgot to take a pic of the completed project.  Or any of the steps in between… But, I misspelled one of the names, so now I get to share!  This year, we have a slew of graduates --nine-- at church.  I decided to make them monogrammed bath towels to take off to college.  But, I’m not that fancy, so I put their name on the towel.  Since there were nine, it was pretty good that there were two Emily’s and two Brandon’s.  Easy enough—not really, I don’t use the embroidery part of my machine often enough to be good at it.  But I remembered from my class, to use stabilizer on the top of the towel so the names don’t sink into the terrycloth.  That's my big hint!  So here is the wrong Brandon and the right one.  All finished, again!  Oh, and I forgot that I used all white towels originally! 

More Easter!!

Yes, you heard it... I am still finishing Easter.  Here is one of my daughters with her girls and all of them are wearing the Easter outfits--  everyone gets a different color, although in the pic Kate's and Kallie's look the same.  Sure, Easter was a month ago, but I was busy.  I got the little girls finished, but still have to get my daughter-in-laws done!  When my other daughter gets her pic taken with her skirt, I will publish it.  Such is life!

I'm still here!

I have been very busy this past couple of weeks, and will get back to my real life soon.  I was put in charge of getting 200 black circle skirts sewn for our church for a show.

Here are about half of them...  All are done.  Yippee!!!
I will return next week with Easter skirts which aren't finished yet!

Hippoty Hop! Easter's on the Way!!

It’s time for the sewing of the Easter dresses!!  I have five granddaughters… I was raised matching on Easter and raised my daughters the same.  We love the matchy matchy!  This year, we decided lace was the theme.  It’s hard finding lace that didn’t scream tablecloth, but settled on this black lace from Hancock Fabrics.  I didn’t necessarily think we wanted black, but white is too Bridal and the other colors not right.  Then the girls got to choose   I choose their color for the underneath—

not to match last years color of skirt.  I decided on the patterns, figuring that the older girls were 10 and didn’t need a baby dress, and the younger got a younger looking dress.  I used McCalls patterns.The older girls and the

 younger girls  All finished and ready to hunt eggs! 

And the girls kind of working it out by the Easter Chick. 

I still have to finish my daughters skirts, and start the DILs skirts!!

 

And I went ahead and bought me a dress—from a hospital gift shop!  I figure maxi dresses have been out for a few years, so I’m almost in fashion!!?!
